Pointy.

I think today I am at the PEAK of my frustration. I know it's dumb, and unfair . . . but I can't help but compare myself to other people. I've read at least 10 accounts on LCF this morning of people that started the same week (or later) than I did, and they've all lost approx 25-35lbs already. How can I not assume that I am doing something wrong?

I am genuinely happy for anyone that is successful losing weight. I know how hard it is. And I hate feeling jealous about it, or angry that I don't have the same results. My body is different, I know that. But sheesh, throw me a bone here, body! Give me something to get excited about!

Anyway, I've got a plan for a good hour or more of exercise tonight. That will be nice. Even in this nasty humid heat. Something meaty for dinner.

Sorry about not being "in the know"...but is LCF: Low Carb Fast??
If so, I tried it. It didn't work for me AT ALL. I actually gained weight. I wasn't having enough calories and therefore my body went into starvation mode. Bad decision on my part.

If LCF is NOT 'Low Carb Fast', then tell me what it stands for and I'm sure I've tried IT as well - and therefore have an opinion about it!! *wink*

I've been low carbing for over 10 years and have tried many Many MANY different variations.

Ammy, could you share any low-carb wisdom with me? What worked best for you?

Low carb wisdom, hmmmm.

I lost the most when I ate very routine. In other words, the same time every day, the same "numbers" every meal, therefore keeping my bloodsugar stable and the cravings at bay. I did exercise, but at the time I was over 300lbs and the only exercise I could do was walk, so I walked on land and walked in water.
I didn't replace my carbs with "fakes" either...in otherwords, if it wasn't sold in a store to everybody, it wasn't for me; I didn't order special chemical-filled things on line like we can now. No "low carb" ice cream or any other sugar-alcohol laden sweets.

I ate at least 100g protein, and no more than 45ecc of carbs per day. When losing, I didn't care about calories or fat (I care more now that I'm closer to my goal weight).

I'm sure you've heard all this before, but it really does work if you work it!! I promise!

Oh, one more thing...If you're not very adventurous with veggies, branch out - try something new. I grew up in Iowa and the only veggies I was even aware of was corn on the cob, baked beans, and peas. On holiday's we'd have green beans, but never without the "casserole" part :)
Now I eat any veggie that is low carb! That way a person won't get as "bored" with the food. We use steamed brussel sprouts and chopped up celery as our "popcorn" when watching movies! Steamed cauliflower can be used in any potato recipe.
And thank all that is low carb for Dreamfields Pasta!!

Thank you so much! I know you've had awesome success, so I really appreciate your input!

I looove veggies, any and all! (except peppers, blech!) so that's easy! staying away from fruit is much harder! :-/

I haven't tried dreamfields yet, but I am not a huge pasta fan, so I don't mind!

Thank you so much!
