A Conversation

This is a snippet of a conversation with a friend I just had, in which I made a tiny realization (which is really a huge one, in the grand scheme)

Friend : How was your day yesterday? (referring to my diet)

Me : same as everyday, perfect :-)

Friend : You're awesome.

Me : haha someday, it'll pay off!

Friend : Gotta keep at it.

Me : i don't plan on stopping. I've never felt so... set. Like, I can't possibly fail this time. no matter how long it takes!

Friend : That's awesome. And must be relieving.

Me : I s'pose it is Like, even though I am working my bum off, I feel sure that it's going to work. Before I was just kind of, hoping.

So there you have it.
I am so committed to my new lifestyle and driven to my goals. Every time I dieted I said the same thing - "this is it!" this was the TIME. And I always relapsed and never met any of my goals. But I never TRULY resigned myself to a "way of life"
It was always a "diet", a short term thing to get me skinny.
That's not what it's about anymore. It's LIFE now. It's not giving up on this until I die. And I will be one sexy ghost! ;-)

You don't need to hope it lasts, you already know it is. :)
