Time passes

On October 5th, I'll have been living the Low Carb Life for 5 months.
Five months, without a doubt, is the longest I have ever stayed on any "diet". This is the easiest it's ever been to stay consistent. I get a lot of flack for it, but I don't care. I *know* that it's healthy, and it works for me.
I am incredibly proud of myself for the past 5 months. At the rate I am losing, it will take me another 2 years or more to reach my goal. And, as frustratingly slow as that is. . . I know that I can make it. There is NO possible way that I am giving up on meeting my goal, no matter how long it takes.

I am also super proud of Fatty, for sticking with it as well. As confident as I am in this lifestyle, I am not positive that I'd be able to do it alone.

I know this is late... but I can't remember where that post is that I want to comment on... so here is what I have to say...

In that post, you wanted to push yourself to the point of puking like the Biggest Losers do.

DON'T DO IT!

If you push yourself THAT far, you've gone WAY WAY WAY too far. It's no longer healthy at that point.

If you puke, from exercising, something has gone terribly wrong internally.

And besides, puke is gross. I'd know, I've cleaned up 6 rounds of it so far today (the puppies have boo-boo-belly today).

Kthxbai.

hahah yeah, I know. I simply meant that I want to be pushed to the point where I surprise myself by being able to do more than I ever thought.
I don't actually want to vomit :-)

Your post reminded me of something Dr. Atkins says in his book. There was one woman he worked with who took 2 or 3 years to lose her weight, but she never quit because she felt so good and knew the process was working. For me, I am not losing as fast as I have in the past, but I just keep telling myself that I have to keep on this path because it's actually working.

You are so right... this is the first time a diet has been able to transform into a real way of life for me. And so, regardless of how frustrated I get with slow loss... I'll stick with it, and be happy that SOMETHING is working, no matter how slowly.
