Rosemary Lemon Chicken Mess

Ok. I haven't gone grocery shopping in a LONG time. Typically, I go every few days. I haven't been in weeks, it feels like. So tonight's dinner was a classic Fisher fiasco — find whatever you can and throw it in a pan.

Well, I found red onion.

I threw it in a pan.

I found a potato. And some garlic!

I found a lemon, and some rosemary! (SCORE!)

I threw them in a pan.

I found some spices!

I found some sea salt.

I found some chicken!

I threw them in a pan.

And just like that... DINNER.
It was delicious, let me tell you. Onions really hold the lemon flavor like a sponge. NUMS.

Its like the chunks you get for a salt grinder... just... bigger!

I like to LICK IT.

And I thought I was bad about salt. I have never owned or licked a salt chunk!

I am always super impressed when people can just put together dinner like that. I need need directions from a recipe or else things turn out to taste super yech! I am so not a little of this little of that and look at what I just came up with kind of cook! Ahh well, maybe if I keep up with the cooking thing I can be like that, like you, someday!

Yes Kathryn! You can :-)
I was lucky to be born with it! (or, at least, taught from a very young age, because my Mom does all of her cooking this way too)

But the more you cook, the better it gets. You learn what flavors will always go together, and then you learn how to compliment them!

There is a try math & science to baking.. but just cooking?! Its all trial and error, and delicious experiments :-)

I can mix and match all the ingredients I find in a ramen package and make dinner... well when I'm not low-carbing anyway...
