Baby, I'm a-mazed

Ok, hang on... it's time for an update!

Saturday, I went out to a fancy running store to purchase the sneakers that my Physical Therapist had recommended. About time, I know!
Turns out, the shoes she recommended were exactly right for me, and I bought them.
They are ugly, but all athletic sneakers are, so... whatevs!

Here they are, Meet Saucony Hurricane :

So far, so good! I've put about 6-7 miles in them already (walking) so, it's a pretty good indicator.

What was I doing for 6-7 miles, you ask?
(well, I'll tell you!

CORN MEGA MAZE!!!

That's right :-) Adam and I went to Davis Farmland, just a few towns over... and did the Mega Maze.

We had a little help at some points...

But we were still hopeless.

Eventually (3 hours later) we made it!  And we got to bang a gong!

Corn-Gratulations.
That really gets me! *snort*

It was really a lot of fun! Frustrating, and harder than you'd think... but way fun!

A lot of my time lately has been spent on a new branch of The Perfect Loop, which is paper goods!
I've had a few orders for cards right away!  Which is so great! But because I am new to it, the process still has some kinks, and it takes a bit longer than it should.  Good practice, though :-)

 Look, I've got help!

And so there you have it.

This leads you into today, where I made some fabulous chicken (chicken broth, fresh lemon juice, olive oil, onions, and garlic), atop rice pilaf (carefully measured, because...I freakin love that stuff!), and some of my Mom's famous recipe - glazed baby carrots.

Look how bright that chicken is. I'll tell you, there is SUCH a drastic difference between organic chicken and non-organic.  The color, texture, and flavor are just a world apart.

And for dessert - strawbs & bloobs, with some homemade lemon whipped cream.

Deeeelicious!

If I have any readers left... tell me, readers...  what products (if any), do you try to always buy organic?
Me?  After watching Food, Inc. I have a hard time buying Perdue meats, so I typically grab chicken from Trader Joe's or Whole Foods.  Fruits and veggies, as well... 'cause they seem to taste better.
I've gotten to the point where approximately 75% of my groceries are organic, which I think is really great!

I'm still here! :) (I always will be though).

I don't buy organic, but that's just because I am, well, Brad is, cheap!

I think your new sneaks are cute! :)

And I'm terrifically jealous of the corn maze. I enjoyed it, sort of, the one time I did it. Though, I didn't like all the bees that were around everywhere!

Simply uh-MAZE-ing!! *snicker-chortle-snort* And a good time was had by all! "How the hell do we get out of here!" "Stay to the right then stay to the left." "Keep your right hand on the corn!"

You may laugh, but I have a fear of mazes. When I scrolled down and saw the corn maze on your blog, I felt tense! Weird, huh?

Glad your shoes worked well for you!

only a number - I think that is a pretty healthy fear to have, actually! It can't be human nature to enjoy being trapped!
