Limbo

So, I am kind of in a weird in-between stage right now with my diet. Coming out of the lovely kidney infection, I am still discouraged from eating high fat foods, nor do I wish to eat anything super heavy. Which, of course, is the staple of a low-carb diet.

I've been eating 2 meals a day for the last few days so I haven't been worrying so much about grams of carbs. I've been eating low-carb for the most part, just haven't been strict about it.

Anyway. I'm just not sure where to go from here. I love being on a low-carb diet. I believe it's healthy, and natural. But mainly, it drastically helps me curb my over eating. And that is my biggest problem.

BUT.

It's not helping me lose any weight.

And that - is a huge problem.

I have been plateaued for over 5 months. That's no longer a plateau. That's maintenance. And I am a good 85lbs away from being able to just maintain.

I don't have a solid plan of action just yet. But for the time being, my game plan is to eat as I've been eating. Which is moderate carb (100g or less), low calorie, lots of water, and a lot of exercise. And most importantly, is to just pay close attention to my hunger, or lack-there-of.

I am not ready to give up my low-carb lifestyle just yet. But obviously things need to be adjusted. I can't handle not losing anymore. I am trying SO damn hard.

I'll be following along in hopes that you find what works for you. I've been plateaued for a few weeks too, and it is maddening! Glad you are feeling better after the kidney infection. Don't quit blogging, no matter what you do. :)

Have you tried different low carb approaches? Maybe the low carb, low calorie is not what you need. I have a maximum carb count of 45g per day, but I have to have equal or more fat than protein in a day. That means that I'm having 160g of protein and about 180g of FAT per day (around 2000 calories) and I am still losing about 2 lbs a week (even now when I'm only 20lbs from my goal weight).

People don't believe me when I say you may not be eating enough, or you may need to adjust they type of food you're eating...have you tried that? Not just reducing carbs and calories, but trying different approaches? You especially may not being eating enough if you are exercising regularaly (well, not since the kidney infection, but before you were!).
I know you've been "stuck" for awhile.
Try something new! Anything is better than being stuck, right????

Oh of course! I've been fat forever, so I have tried EVERYTHING :-)

I have upped my carbs, lowered my carbs, upped my cals, lowered my cals, etc. etc. etc.

Just haven't found the winning combo yet. So, we shall see! :-)
