Worth the expense

I'm very excited about starting with the Personal Trainer.
So, naturally, I've told a couple people about it. The main reaction I am getting is..."How much is that gonna be?!" "Wow, won't that be expensive?" "How can you afford that!?"

And of course, my reaction to that is... None of yo bidness.

Yes, absolutely it's going to be expensive. And if I couldn't afford it, I wouldn't do it. I don't have children, I don't have massive debt, I can spend my money on what I think is important and that is my health, and my happiness.

I know that the economy is rough right now, and that I have been incredibly lucky that Joel and I are doing fine. But I shouldn't have to justify my spending to anyone. Especially when it's something as important as this.

I obviously can't do this on my own. I need professional help, and professional help costs money.

Ok, that rant is over. (and it wasn't from anyone who reads this blog, just other people in my physical life!) :-)

But yes.. I am excited, and very nervous!

Geesh, for people to ask is pretty rude. "None of your business" is a good answer! :)

I'm dropping 20K on a wedding this year - I'm sure alot of people would scoff at that much money in an economy like this too. But this is what we choose to spend it on. Everyone has something that someone else would think was a waste of money, so they shouldn't comment unless they really are perfect.

But how can you afford that in an economy like this?!?!?! ;) From what I hear you're only spending money to try and help the economy. So you're just being a good citizen.. hahahaha Seriously though, who cares? People that yammer on about stuff like that are just jealous that they can't do it. Or just plain nosey.

I think the people who tell you those things, they MUST BE ENVIOUS, CUZ I KNOW I AM!!
I work out a lot lately and many times I wish I had a trainer by my side all the time, to push me harder, to correct my form, to spot me. I love getting the motivation when I don't have enough of it myself, so what I do instead now is I take a lotta group lessons (weight training, body combat etc.).
Anyhoo I think your results with a trainer will be GREAT!!!! I'm excited for to you start!

Now let's look at this from a reasonable perspective, Ms. Vegas will probably agree being a number cruncher.. Ooops (apology due)soon to be Mrs. Vegas...and I will be watching the web cast BTW...

I bet you have spent way more money getting into this slightly plump condition than you will spend getting out. Taking the ROI and spread it out over the course of a natural long healthy life I bet it probably is one of the best investments you will ever make.. even better than real estate. (want proof?, look at all the folks who used that trainer ... Madoff with a lot of money guy) Being fit and mobile into the golden years is "priceless" So make a spreadsheet and stuff it up their ....well you know, where the sun don'd shine very brightly....

HAHAHAHA...

It's a little scary but you will end up enjoying it and it will make a change in your life...
