Back to the purpose of this blog

Sorry for the poop story. I just couldn't possibly keep it to myself!

I weighed in this morning, I am up another 2lbs today.

That gives me a gain of SIXTEEN pounds now.

That, is not a fluke. That cannot be water weight and my body adjusting.

SIXTEEN POUNDS.

I need help! I need answers!

Yeah, I don't think that's water gain at this point. Have you discussed your meal plans with your trainer? Maybe it's something in your diet? Also, are they taking your measurements?

Yep! My trainer approves all my meal plans at the beginning of the week.

And I take measurements. They have only gone UP. :-(

I'm trying to remember back...didn't you just switch to a low calorie plan, not necessarily low carb? Remind me.

Plus, why don't you post your menu each day? You said you record it elsewhere (daily plate or fitday or something), but why don't you post it here? Or provide a link so we can view?
Then we could give some suggestions. Or atleast our opinions...

Hi Ammy, thanks :-)

I am doing a moderate carb, low calorie diet. My weekly menu is all very close to this week's that I posted previously - http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3064/3526027700_1212175994_b.jpg

The difference is, I've recently upped it by 200 calories per day. Since my trainer and I thought maybe I wasn't eating enough.

I can't seem to get the link to work.
I do remember reading your menu's before your most recent diet change.
My guess, without seeing

your menu's, is that this new change is not good for you. I mean, if you were pretty stable before (not losing, but not gaining), then this moderate carb, low cal isn't working if you've gained 16lbs!!!

I suggest a low carb diet, and NOT low fat is a great way to go. I know, very radical for some to hear that.
Before, I believe you were doing low carb, and low calorie (which usually means lower fat).

The low carb plan I follow...I have the same grams of fat and protein (about 130) and less than 45 effective carbs per day. Calories are not something I pay attention to - at all.
I'm down 120lbs and very stable. I still have 20lbs before I'm at my official goal weight, and admittedly the weight loss has really slowed down as I get closer and closer, but I can have days where I eat too many carbs and it doesn't stay with me.
That is huge! To eat right most of the time but not be punished when I have a celebration meal.

Anyway...I hope you find something that works for you. If you want to hear more about the way I eat, just holler!

Thanks Ammy!

I was starting to gain weight on the low-carb diet, which is actually why I switched to low-calorie.

I've tried everything (it seems like!) and I just haven't found anything yet that allows me to lose, and continue losing. :-/

But when you did the low carb, did you also do low fat/calorie??

You do have to make sure you're getting enough food when you follow the low carb, and if I remember correctly, your calories were really low...???

Nope! I followed Atkins specifically. Not low cal at all, and definitely not low fat!
