Never would have expected...

I just drank a cup of decaf coffee, with no sweetener. That's a first on a few levels. I've never had decaf coffee(as far as I can remember) and I've never had unsweetened coffee. I know I could have a few more cups without splenda, and get used to it, and have no problem. Man I miss my caffeine though. Chai reminded me that caffeine isn't tops on the list of consumables, at least for the first few weeks of getting back into low-carb. Damn me and my asking for reminders... I'm not cutting caffeine completely out of my diet, but I am significantly decreasing it for a while. I think I'm going to go over here and deal with my headaches and floaty head feeling... stupid withdrawals...

So glad I never did any real drugs, caffeine is bad enough. lol

Cro always has huge headaches when he tries to cut back on caffeine ... I don't know if I've ever really been addicted to it since my diet sodas are already without it. I sure miss the carbonation when I have cut them back though! I'm starting to really love iced tea with stevia.

Splenda is my sweetener of choice, but there's roughly 1g of carbs per packet. I had about 8-10 or my 21g of carbs for the day, from it. So I'm trying to cut it out or at least scale it back for a while, so I can get may daily carbs from stuff I need, like veggies, etc.

The headache isn't too bad, it's more of a disconnected feeling I get. It's kinda of odd. Not much fun.

Pick up some liquid Stevia if you are just trying to avoid carbs from the packets. Just be careful of the brand because some brands are very bitter. The kind I can't live without is "NOW" brand (you can even find it on Amazon.com among lots of other places). It isn't bitter at all and is zero carbs rather than the 1carb per packet caused by filler. I use liquid Stevia in my iced tea.

i get ez-sweetz, it's liquid sucralose (splenda). it seems like a tiny container, but it's powerful stuff. if you like coleslaw, it's wonderful for homemade lc coleslaw, drool.
