Are you...talking to knee?!

I was so fed up yesterday, regarding my knees and my weight and all that crap. So I had decided that no matter what, I was going to plow right through my training, pain or no pain.
And I did just that. I got a great work out, finally. And this morning, Wiley told me I am back at 215lbs.

I learned a lot this week. I learned that set backs won't hold me back for long. Typically, if I wasn't able to work out very much for a couple days, that immediately triggered overeating. It would launch me off the proverbial wagon, with just the slightest push. It didn't take much at all.

Now... it would take A LOT. It would take so much to get me off this path I am on, because I am finally on the right path, with all the right tools and knowledge I need!

And today, the truth is... I am in a lot of pain. But I don't care. I will rest when I need to rest, but I will NOT let my maladies decide when I can and cannot lose weight. I tell YOU what to do, Mr. Knees! :-)
Yesterday, I ordered some knee straps... they look like this :

(but with less leg hair)

Here's what it does :
  • pressurized tubing applies effective pressure on the patella tendon, helping lift the patella.
  • helps reduce inflammation, irritation and cartilage wear around and under patella.

We shall see if they help.  They list my knee problem as one of the ailments it is designed for, so I look forward to trying them!
I am also going to try and be better about giving my knees the R.I.C.E treatment more often. I am supposed to do it every night, but, it's such a hassle :-/ But I will try to commit to it, especially now that I do so much more running.
(R.I.C.E is : Rest. Ice. Compression. Elevation)
