Dumps & Dreams

Today's weigh in : 220.6lb

+ 1.6lbs

As humans, we all seem to be born with a sense of entitlement. And mine comes in a way that makes me feel that if I work hard for something, it should pay off. I don't follow diets, track my food meticulously, exercise everyday or spend more to buy natural foods just because I think it's FUN.  I do it because I want to be fit. I want to be healthy. And I want to look good and feel confident.

Don't get me wrong, most of the time I enjoy the workout. I enjoy the taste and the feeling of organic, healthful foods. But the planning, prepping, scheduling, counting, logging, and pushing through the pain - should be worth it! And right now, it's not. It's not worth what I am getting.

However. I'll tell you one thing that I will never do.  I will never give up on this goal.  Even if you told me, flat out that it is not attainable, I am not sure I could give up on it.

Sometimes, I feel sad that I will have spent my entire life fighting something.  Day after day, fighting. It sounds exhausting. And at times (like right now) it is just that. But working hard does feel good. And what better cause to fight for than myself?

I know this post is all over the place.
I don't mean for it to be overwhelmingly negative.
I do feel very frustrated about my gain, and not knowing what I can do to turn it around.

I digress.  You've heard this all before :-)

In the meantime... I think I'll distract myself with mini goals!

This week, I'd like to do the following :

1. Run a cumulative 7 miles

2. Create a 3,000 calorie deficit on ONE day. (I don't know how this will happen yet, but it sounds like a lot of fun to try!)(side note: I will not create the deficit by cutting intake, only on burn)

Take my mind off things!  Leave me a comment with your weekly goals! If you don't have any, think of this as a good time to make some!

Hang in there. It's the overall weight loss that counts, not one day on the scale.

Sorry to hear that. You are allowed to eat as many fruits as you want on your version of Paleo, right? If you are eating too many daily you might be overeating on fructose. Just something to look into.

Burning 3000 extra calories in a day is very ambitious, but it's sometimes good to aim high. Hope you make it!
