The aesthetic of this place is my dream home!
First thing we did was take a quick tour of the grounds and the unbelievable herb gardens. Oh, the fresh smells of the herbs and flowers and wet soil were just breathtaking. After our chef snipped a hefty bundle of fresh lavender, we headed back inside and started of some grub!
BYOB
First up was a Cranberry Lavender Lemonade. It sounds simple and not so special, but let me assure you it was a sweet-sour-complex-soothing-bright tasting cup of heaven.

It was so cool to be in this chef's professional kitchen. I have eaten at this restaurant before and it is exquisite to say the least. Seeing this kitchen and seeing the chef in action was just such a treat.
We then worked on a few things at once -
Citrus & Lavender Cured Salmon
Lavender Shortbread (o.m.g)
Orange Zest & Lavender Buttermilk Dressing
Lavender Panna Cotta
Lavender Bread Pudding
He printed all the recipes up for us to take home
I can't properly describe the fantasticness of this salmon. I've had a LOT of salmon in my life, and this may be the very best. I am definitely going to try and make this myself.

My auntie made me those aprons. I looove them and wear them all the time. The other people in the class were so jealous of them... I could tell!
I realize this pic looks a bit creepy, but in the evening, this dimly lit rustic wood barn, adorned with dried herbs and antique bottles was the most charming, warm place you could imagine.
I had a super lovely time. I am no longer afraid of lavender as an ingredient, and I got to spend some time with my friend Jeannette!
I am definitely looking forward to attending another class!
