Training

Sweet Copper Penny just asked me about my training. So I figured I'd write about it here! Hope you don't mind, SCP!

How is it going?
It's going well. While I haven't seen any physical changes in the scale, measuring tape, clothing - I have noticed remarkable inner changes. My stamina is much better. My heart rate recovery is REMARKABLY better. I am stronger and also more willing to try new exercises without first assuming I can't possibly do it.

What is the trainer having you do?
It is very different every day. I work out for one hour. I do a 20 minute warm up on the treadmill before hand, followed by 3 short walking stretches and then we do whatever she has planned. We do strength training with weights, stability ball exercises, lots of push ups and squats and every variation of the two. We do interval training on cardio machines, as well as cardio like jump rope, jumping jacks, burpees, stepping, and the agility ladder. We do lots of ab work on the mat with medicine balls and the such. And at the end of each session, we do a 5 minute stretching session.

How do you like it?
I love it. I have never enjoyed working out. And I know I never will. However, I absolutely adore my trainer. I like seeing progress in my strength, and I enjoy feeling hopeful that this will lead to physical changes.
When I work out for that hour with the trainer, I consistantly burn 850-1050 calories each session. When I work out for a full hour at home (for what feels like full capacity) I only burn 400-500. So, she's knows what she's doing!

If anybody has any other questions for me... bring 'em on!
