The Plan, Stan!

I gots my new plan.

First, the numbers -

Calories in : 1200-1500 daily
Carbs in : 60-100 daily
Calories burned (by exercise) : 200 per day, 6 days a week. (800-1000 per week)

The calories burned are a tentative guess. I purchased a heart rate monitor yesterday, so as soon as it is delivered, I will figure out what my usual workouts burn and adjust accordingly.

Based on the generic calorie calculators, my body needs 2700 to maintain my current weight (which, I know is BS, since I've been eating 1500 for months and haven't lost!) But anyway, my plan will put me at a weekly deficit of 9,400-11,500 calories. (thats nuts) Which, if science actually applied to my body... would be 2.6-3.2lbs per week.

I know that all these numbers don't really mean a thing when it comes to practical application of weight loss. But... I like cold hard facts! ;-) And it keeps me motivated and hopeful.

I am excited to get my heart rate monitor, and I am excited to see if I can lose another 3lbs! :)

So, other diet rules -

1. Follow the math above
2. Log in all food, every day (including weekends! that is hard for me!)
3. Limit soda. Keep no soda in the house. Only order soda every other time when dining out.
4. No "empty carbs" Upping my carbs is great, but I still will not be eating sugar, pasta, rice, potatoes, etc. I strongly believe in "everything in moderation" but, I'd like to avoid all binge-triggers.
5. Water water water water water

Rules, and Vow Renewal

Ok, its time to write out the rules. Mostly so that is Fatty catches me breaking one, he can beat me.

1. Keep carbs at or below 30g per day.
2. Keep calories between 1200-1600 per day.
3. Track food daily.
4. Measure foods properly, before cooking.
5. Exercise as much as possible. ** (See below)
6. Restrict Splenda (& artificial sweeteners in general) to 2 servings a day.
7. Restrict caffeine to one serving per day.
8. Restrict Maltitol (& sugar alcohols in general) to 1 serving per WEEK.
9. Allow fruit (within carb limit) once every 2 weeks.
10.Be POSITIVE. 10lbs is coming off, for sure!

** I have a new little trick I am going to try regarding exercise. I absolutely always exercise when I am wearing my work out clothes. My new rule is that, as soon as I get home from work, I immediately change into my work out clothes. I will leave them out and ready every day. When I am wearing my work out clothes, I will make everything into a work out, I will jog up and down the stairs, I will do lunges while washing dishes. Seriously, it's ridiculous, but it works. So, I'll use it to my advantage.
This also makes me do two other things I really need to do -
1. Buy some new work out clothes (& socks!)
2. Keep up with my god damn laundry!

Ok, that's all for now! Happy Monday people!

New Goal

I am making a new goal. I would like to lose 10lbs. Period!

228 or bust, people!

I know I'll still have 75lbs to go after that 10, but that's exactly what I want to stop thinking about. From now on, it's 10lbs at a time and thats it. I know that 10, and even 5 is just wishful thinking at this point since I am still plateaued...but that won't stop me from trying!

No deadline, just a race to 10lbs.

I'm going to keep Fatty's principle of doing a little bit of something every day in mind.

Decision '08

Fooled ya! This entry is NOT about the election.

It's about my decision to "re-induct" into Atkins, starting today.
I got on the scale this morning, and it's up to 240lbs. And that makes me sad.
While in the shower, I thought of what I could possibly do to drop SOME kind of weight. I still have no grand ideas.

So, it's not like I had great success in my first and second rounds of Induction, but, any change is welcome at this point.

I have quite a few restaurant outings this month, so I'll just have to do my best.

Anyways, operation Induction starts today.
And I need to give another boost to my exercising. I've been doing about 3-4 days a week, but I need to get it in even more. I'll try for that as well.

Alright.... here it be.... Rules of November -

• Induction menu ONLY for at least 2 weeks, starting today

• Drink more mother'f'ing WATER.

• Exercise no less than 4 days a week, but aim for 6

• DO NOT WEIGH IN until the end of the 2 week induction. (Nov. 19th)(I can hear you chuckling at this one!)

Vows

I hereby vow to . . .

• Eat less than 20g of carbs per day

• Drink a minimum of 100oz of water per day (this will include crystal lite, and seltzer water. Will not include diet soda, iced coffee, etc.

• Use the Wii Fit for a minimum of 30 minutes a day.

• Round carbs up, to allow for hidden carbs

Those, are my rules. I pray that this combo, plus regular exercises can make me actually lose some weight. I'm trying to be forgiving for this weeks gain/stall, but it really bugs me. My first goal was 20lbs down by this Saturday. And I am nowhere near that. My current goal is now 20lbs for this whole month.
